Hiding The Treasure
Treasure can be buried in the ground, covered in rocks, or sunken underwater. You may mark your location physically with an "X", or leave it unmarked. It may be fun or even necessary to tie a rope to your treasure chest. The rope can provide an added twist, as the rope is pulled from the ground to reveal the hidden location of the treasure at the other end of the rope far away. A rope can also make the treasure easier to find and unbury.
When you bury treasure, keep in mind you want the area to look undisturbed. Sand is the best because it is easy to dig and it is easy to cover your work. Areas with lots of leaves are nice for covering things up too. Normally you will cut off sections of top soil and plants and place them aside. Place your dirt in a tarp as you dig. Count on disposing of some extra soil. Burying your treasure under an existing rock is nice too.
An easy way to cover your tracks in loose dirt is to take a branch, preferably with lots of leaves, and and use it to rub out your tracks.
